About Me
I am an assistant professor in the Operations Research and Industrial Engineering program at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining UT Austin, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. I earned my Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley, and hold both a B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Seoul National University.
Research Interests
My research goals center on developing strong formulations and efficient solution approaches for mixed-integer optimization problems, particularly by exploiting special problem structures. Key areas of interest include:- Convexification of mixed-integer convex optimization
- Tractable distributed MIP algorithms
- Applications in statistical learning and control optimization
- Combined framework of optimization and machine learning
- Optimization under uncertainty
